Page Objectives
Write the content of your textbook in these sections / chapters of your main body. Consider the following options when deciding how to organize and present the information that comprises each section / chapter.
COLLAPSIBLE SECTIONS:
To create another level of organization, you can use the Heading 1 style in order to create collapsible sections that the reader can navigate through more easily. You can enable collapsible sections by going to Appearance > Theme Options > Web Options. Using collapsible sections does not work with anchor links, so you may need to choose which feature will work better for your book.
TEXTBOXES:
As you organize content in your book sections and chapters, it is recommended that you utilize the in-built textbook functions to help students quickly identify and chunk information such as learning objectives, examples, exercises, summaries, etc. Consider using the following textboxes to organize your section / chapter content.
HEADERS:
Using headers to organize your section / chapter content is a best practice for accessibility. It also facilitates the use of “anchors” in your chapter which facilitate navigation within a Pressbooks page. At the beginning of each chapter, this section tells you what you’ll learn and be able to do. It’s like a roadmap to help you focus on the most important ideas.
