Academic Burnout

Academic burnout is a state of chronic exhaustion, disengagement, and reduced achievement in response to the demands of academic pursuits. It involves emotional and physical fatigue, decreased motivation, cynicism, and a decline in academic performance. It arises from factors such as excessive workload, high expectations, competition, and a lack of support. Academic burnout can have detrimental effects on one’s mental well-being and educational journey.
