Community Boundaries

We’ve said this before but feel like it’s important to repeat, setting boundaries is very important when it comes to your mental well-being as a student. It is important for you to set boundaries not only with your family at home but with your friends, roommates, and community here at Texas State. As finals approach, it is important to communicate to those around you and your family that you may not be as available over the next few weeks as you prepare for finals and focus on your academics.

Although that conversation with your family may not be easy, Thanksgiving break is a great time to explain to your family that your academics take priority over the next few weeks. Having these conversations will help you avoid feeling overwhelmed and burnt out as the stress of finals and grades increases.
