Congratulations! Thank you for choosing Texas State University for this exciting chapter in your life’s story. I know how hard you worked to get here and what this means for you, your family, your friends, and your community.

No matter what path led you to TXST, it will soon feel like home to you. You are joining a welcoming and supportive community of Bobcats – including the most dedicated and talented faculty and staff I have ever met. They are committed to provide you with opportunities to connect, explore, and thrive.

Understandably, you may be experiencing a lot of emotions about this transition. Like many of our TXST students, I was the first in my family to go to college. Like some of our Bobcats, I attended a community college before starting my bachelor’s degree. I never even dreamt about attending college when I was in high school, much less becoming a university president. But thanks to the support of my family, mentors, and some compassionate teachers (and a lot of hard work), I now have the great honor of leading one of the nation’s top universities.

I believe in your ability to earn your degree. You have what it takes! Our faculty and staff members are here to support you every step of the way. We WANT you to succeed!
