Are you looking for help as you embark on your Pressbooks project? You are not alone! There are many support options that exist for Pressbooks users. 

How to use Pressbooks 

Pressbooks provides both a robust User’s Guide for the platform and a useful YouTube series with demonstrations and how-to tutorials for the major components and functions of the platform.  

  • Pressbooks User Guide – This guide provides answers to a lot of common questions about using the Pressbooks platform. It is updated on a regular basis to reflect changes in the platform and queries from users.  
  • Pressbooks YouTube Channel – This YouTube channel has how-to videos, webinars, product updates, and many other resources that are useful to Pressbooks users. Check out the playlist page on this channel for curated lists of videos that address topics like using H5P, fundamentals of Pressbooks, Pressbooks Results, etc. If you are quite new to Pressbooks, you might start with the “Fundamentals of Pressbooks” series.  

For additional support using Pressbooks, you can visit the Texas State University “Pressbooks Companion Guide and Resources” Library Guide which provides explanations of key features and showcases examples of widely adopted and effective open textbooks made with Pressbooks. This guide also provides resources – including useful templates – for planning and organizing your open textbook project.  

Trainings, Webinars, and Workshops 

For a more interactive training experience with the possibility of asking specific questions, you may consider the regular trainings and webinars offered by Pressbooks. These trainings / webinars are free and require that one simply register. Also, if you register and are unable to attend the webinar, you will be sent a recording.  

  • Pressbooks Webinars and Trainings – These webinars and trainings are typically delineated according to beginner (“Getting Started”), intermediate (“Create Engageing Learning Materials with Pressbooks”), and advanced (“Prepare Your Book for Publication and Distribution”) Pressbooks user needs.
